My career spans over a decade of experience at Amazon and 3 years at Compass, where I've held key leadership positions, including Design Lead, Team Manager, and Strategist. I’ve been instrumental in overseeing user experience, process development, consumer research, and product integration for both desktop and mobile platforms.
My strategic approach to product design, combined with hands-on expertise, has expanded the boundaries of user interaction, leading to several design patents and significant product enhancements. Notably, my contributions helped elevate the Kindle app to a 5-star rating and improved the Alexa app’s rating to over 4 stars. I was also recognized by renowned design expert Don Norman for pioneering a groundbreaking method of non-linear reading.
I am seeking a Lead Design or Staff Product Designer role, ideally in a dynamic, collaborative environment that values creativity and innovation. I am looking for full-time, hybrid, or remote opportunities in the Seattle area, where I can be a strategic partner in product development and decision-making.

"I find it just wonderful to read. It really changed my reading life, just brilliant. Thumbs up. Two thumbs up."

Amy Jiménez Márquez - Design Executive
"’I've had the pleasure to work with Craig both at Amazon and at Compass. Craig is a unique leader in design. He is knowledgeable, talented across the disciplines in user experience design, a conscientious leader, and he’s humble.
He is focused on the human experience of working together as much as he is on the user experience of a product or service. In the organizations he joins, he is always the first to raise his hand and lead building a better design community. This takes the form of things like being one of 4 individuals to start 'Conflux,' Amazon’s international design conference in 2012. I was privileged to work with him when he led classes and mentoring for Amazon’s “Diversity in Design” program, which involved working with high school and college students in under-served communities.
At Compass, he organized and produced the company’s first presence at a design conference — IXDA Interactions 2021), out of which Compass was able to identify 37 design candidates to interview for the many open roles on the team.
He’s pioneered a new team at Compass — Service Desk — in designing the products and services for a 0 to 1 full-service model to help Real Estate Agents through their complex interactions. He’s been influential in the product strategy, and been able to get his design team well ahead of schedule for this significant new product launch.
Craig has also elevated the hiring processes and been central to growing the design team at Compass. He was instrumental in putting together the training materials and teaching the course for conducting behavioral interviews with the design team. In addition, he pulled together the templates, and interaction guides for phone screens, loop interviews, and whiteboard exercises.
If all of this sounds like too much for one person, it normally would be. But Craig is tireless in his energy and dedication to his team. He’s a delight to have as a colleague and quickly becomes a friend. If you have the opportunity to work with Craig, you should absolutely do so. I am happy to be able to work with him, and would do so again at any opportunity in the future."

"I continue to seek Craig's objective perspective in all things Design: from impact of org changes, to validation and empathy, to UX methodology, to new job opportunities. He consistently impresses me with his curiosity and eagerness to continue learning new approaches to UX, especially since he can school most product managers, engineers and designers on leading valuable, digital products. I would be lucky to cross paths with him again. He is a servant leader and in tech that's rare and a truly an exceptional way to be. Thank you for always having time for me Craig, you are missed and very much appreciated."
